This will be Coach Alison's second season coaching for CCVC, returning this season to assist with the Development Program 9-11 year old team.
Coach Ali started playing volleyball on a competitive CCVC team travel at the age of 10, with former CCVC Coach Geraghty's 14's team. Alison continued to play for 6 years, including in Middle School and for the Cardinal Gibbon High School JV Squad. While playing competitively, Alison exceled as a defensive specialist and as a setter. Her quick reflexes and court awareness was a great strength for her.
As Coach's time moved from being spent playing volleyball to jobs and working and to focusing further on school, Alison decided the best way to stay involved with volleyball, but not with the committment of a CCVC Travel Team, to show her love for the sport, her love for teaching and her love for youngsters would all be addressed while coaching with CCVC.
Last season's coaching assignment was a testament to this fact that says it best, she helped with the D4 Development team coaching staff attending to the 9-10 year old players and loved the experience! Being a former CCVC player helped her relate with these younger girls. It was fun seeing both perspectives as a competitive player and now as a coach. It was also lots of fun to see the girls develop their volleyball skills.
Coach looks forward to forming long lasting relationships with "her" girls and can't wait to help them improve their volleyball skills and accomplish their goals in volleyball for this season and many, many more seasons.
