Capital City Volleyball Club welcomes Coach Owen to his inaugural season coaching club. Coach was introduced to volleyball at 14 and received his first formal education of the sport as a high school freshman in Long Island, NY.
He competed in the NYS Empire State Games in the summer 1990 and was a Suffolk County finalist and champion in 1991 and 1992, respectively. His coed city league won the outdoor championships for three years running beginning in 1999. Owen competed in the University of Texas—Austin intramural championships in 2003, 2004, and 2005. He played on the university’s club team as well.
Coach Owen continued to play competitively after graduation with the Cisco sand league, winning a championship in 2006-07. He also plays in the sand doubles league at Jaycee Park and with the VH-1 grass and King/Queen tournaments.
Off the court Owen enjoys food, movies, golf, basketball and live music. He enjoys being around nature and animals, including time spent with his pug Gizmo.
It is a great to have Coach join CCVC and offer his selfless time to help offer the highest volleyball education possible to our girls.
