Coach Davene
This is Coach Davene's second season, as a coach, with Capital City Volleyball Club and will be coaching the 14-1 team. She coached the 16-2 team last season. Prior to joining CCVC Coach Davene coached for 2 seasons with SpikeForce and in her younger days with the Durham Volleyball Club when Juniors was initiated. She also coached a boys team at Cary YMCA for 1 season. As coach of SpikeForce she led her team to the Silver championship at the Peachtree Classic tournament and went undefeated at a Carolina Region 14 Gold tournament. Her SpikeForce team won the Carolina Region Sportsmanship award in 2006.
Coach Davene currently is the head coach at NC School of Science and Mathematics where she has been for 7 years. She has been playing volleyball since she was 12 and continues to play in area city leagues throughout the year as well as USAV in the winter.
Originally from the Chicago area, Coach Davene graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Computer Science. She is a Quality Assurance manager at Credit Suisse. She met her husband Trey on the volleyball courts so it's no surprise that her 3 children - Kami, Jamie, and Julia - grew up next to them, too. In her free time Coach Davene enjoys Facebook, cross-stitching, Sudokus, watching Kami dance, cheering for Jamie and Julia on the volleyball court, and relaxing at the beach.
