In his third season with Capital City Volleyball Club, Coach will be working with the SPA program and also as the Assistant Club Director. Over the years, coach has focused on teaching the game which has led to his teams performed in the top of the Carolina Region. This is a result of having coaches that understand that winning starts with having fun, so it's more than just "nose to the grind-stone" volleyball. As a long standing volleyball coach for juniors and youth volleyball, Coach Jeff is a great addition to this coaching team to teach "volleyball for life and not for a season".
Coach Jeff began coaching in 1990 for the Fairfax Juniors Volleyball Club of Northern Virginia. He coached 18's, 16's and 14's while he was there. His Fairfax Red 16's team participated in the inaugural Atlantic Rim Power League which brought together highly competitive teams from New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. He has previously achieved Coach Accreditation Program (CAP) certification at CAP I and CAP II levels.
For the last ten years he has led the Youth Volleyball program at the Cary Family YMCA. As Director of this program, it has evolved from Youth volleyball skills clinics into two youth leagues, an Elementary School league for grades 3-5 and a Middle School league for grades 6-8. These leagues are designed to introduce boys and girls to the great sport of volleyball. Many participants of the YMCA Youth Volleyball Program have continued on to play for Middle School, High School and Club teams (yes, quite a few are at CCVC).
Coach Jeff began playing volleyball in High School in San Diego. He has played competitively both indoors and outdoors. He is currently enjoying playing recreationally with friends and family.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Coach Jeff grew up as a 'Navy Brat' all around the Pacific Rim. He graduated in 1982 from the University of Hawaii with a B.A. in Economics. He met his future wife, Bo, playing Volleyball and his entire family enjoys playing, especially at the beach.
